wet and dry scrubber

WET AND DRY SCRUBBER

WET SCRUBBER
Wet scrubber is a device that use a liquid (water) for the removal of source emission from effluent gas stream. The dirty gas stream is brought into contact with liquid by spraying it into the liquid; by forcing it through a pool of liquid; or by some other contact method. The advantage and disadvantages of using wet scrubber instead of some other control device depend on the pollutant (gas or particle) to be controlled.

DRY SCRUBBER :
Dry scrubber is a device which is used a dry absorption system to remove gaseous contaminants such as HCl and SO2 from effluent gas stream. The Basic Procedure of its operation is as follows. Alkaline sorbent materials are injected into the dirty flue gas. The acid gases begin to react with the alkaline sorbents to produce solid particulates salts that are collected by a particulate control device, usually  a fabric filter. The unreacted sorbent is also captured on the fabric filter cake, where additional acid gas react with the sorbent and is captured.
There are two types of dry scrubber system :
1.   Spray dryer
2.   Dry injection.
